At 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown we have a recipe challenge this week. This is my card
...and this is the recipe I followed
My card features coloured in peel off stickers, with rhinestone baubles, twine and the debossed background ( I think this is the debossed side, I chose the stars as the main feature and so have ensured they are debossed) The sentiment is a little 'tile' I made by stamping on to mountboard, sponging on the colour and adding several layers of UTEE. I avoid colouring images like the plague as I think/know I'm not very good at it, but thanks to Ruth I've been pushed out of my comfort zone and TBH I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
Thank you so much for entering our Completely Christmas challenge 12 mid-month sketch with your lovely card - we hope we'll see you again soon, Hazel, DT - you could also enter this into my CHNC challenge extra for May - I'd love to see it there too. x

I love this. Great use of peeloffs and gems. The debossed background is super!
ReplyDeleteI love this fun and festive card Louise, the tile is amazing, the sentiment is perfect with the tree and pressies!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about colouring in images, I used to avoid it too and didn't enjoy it much but that was 'cos I put myself under pressure. I have a more relaxed view on it these days though, I'm getting more philosophical as I get older! I accept that I'm never going to be a wonderful colourer and with the amazing results you see these days with alcohol markers it seemed like I shouldn't even bother trying! However, I see it as I'm making a card not a piece of artwork to hang on a wall so as long as I enjoy the process and I'm happy with my coloured image that's fine by me - happy with it as opposed to delighted! You know what they say, practise makes perfect so maybe one day I'll be more than happy LOL! So don't be hard on yourself about colouring, just relax and maybe you'll enjoy it more and your confidence will increase! Ruth x
A great card Louise! I love the sentiment and how you've made it into a tile. Hugs, Gill x
ReplyDeleteThat sentiment goes perfectly with the whimsical tree image! Nice job, Louise!
