Jolly Old Saint Nicholas

Saturday again! That means it's time for another Christmas card challenge from the team at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown and as it's a new month we have a new hostess, Danielle and first off she has an awesome sketch for us all

I must say, my first card for this challenge I was very pleased with - until I took a closer look and saw that Danielle wanted us to use DP for those square panels. Oh well, never mind, you'll be seeing THAT one in a couple of weeks time as I managed to change tack and create a card for a different challenge. Back to this one. I have been  a bit naughty, as doilies are just not my style and I don't have a suitable scalloped circle, so I just went with a circle, hope our hostess will forgive me ;)

This colour combo really is a fave with me, don't you just love that big, smiling, cheery Santa image- 'Jolly Old Saint Nicholas' - I should think so! I really like the effect of white embossing on kraft card.
The heart 'paper' is actually fabric, giving the card some lovely texture. Only 13 more weekends before the big day I think, so better get your crafting stuff out and start making some festive cards. Looking forward to visiting your blogs and having a look at your take on the sketch too.

  4. Forgive you??? I'm in love with your fabulous card Louise. Santa in the circle is so cute! You know that I love patterned paper - but honestly I would have been fine if you didn't use it. I can't wait now until you share your other card with us. Hugs D

  5. Wonderful card Louise, naturally, I love the red, white and kraft combo! The fabric is such a lovely touch, the heart design is so homespun and charming! Gorgeous image too! Got to say, I'm a tad concerned that you don't like doilies - what's wrong with you woman?! ; ) The plain circle works wonderfully though!
