Shades Of Green

The colour challenge that Jacqueline has devised for us at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown this week is a little bit different - we want to see shades of green on your Christmas cards.  One neutral is allowed - either for your cardstock or for stamping outlines

For my neutral I chose cream card stock, and I have used three shades of green, I've also gone long and thin (I wish!!)
I've used Contempo Christmas stamps.  First I used Lucky Limeade (my all-time favourite green) and sponged a piece of card all over, then I waterstamped the tree image on top, adding a few splashes for effect.  Once dry I added the three trees, stamped in an olive green shade onto the cream card and an organza ribbon.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment in 'Christmas tree' green (I don't have a proper name for it)
Here it is, a bit closer up

Quite arty, I think.  Very happy with the way this turned out.  Do visit the blog to see the fab cards from the rest of the team.

  4. Ooh I do love that inking/splashing technique and the look you've achieved with it for the card base - its wonderful. I like that you went long and thin with you card - I need to do that more often too just for a change. Glad you made it back from your trip safe and sound. Hugs D

  6. Love that inky, watery background Louise, how funny that we both used the splashy technique on our cards for this challenge! The long and thin format is perfect for this card!
