I am not sure what you will make of my card this week. I've done something completely different, and I'm pleased with it, although I suspect there are some out there who would disagree. Oh well, it doesn't do for us all to like the same thing all of the time.It happened because a friend gave me some old crafting stuff she's inherited. Much of it I couldn't use and I've passed it on to a local charity store but this one sheet of peel-offs caught my eye. It was so simple and beautiful (I'd love a stamp like this) and I decided to use it to create a card. As it was red it was just right for this week's challenge.
I've double matted it onto gold and red glitter card and my neutral choice is black - I've put a white liner inside so that I can write the card later. I feel it's an interesting mix of modern and traditional - what do you think?
However you like your red and gold, remember to only use one other neutral if you want to be in with a chance for a top slot.
Wow! This is gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteI think your card is amazing Louise. It's funny because my first thought when I saw it was that it wasn't your usual style but that I LOVED it instantly. Nice job lady! Those peel offs are terrific. Hugs D
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS, Louise! That peel off is amazing!!! At first I thought you'd traced it with liquid pearls or something, but it is just beautiful! HUGS and happy weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the bold, dramatic combo of red, gold and black and I think the matting and no sentiment was the perfect way to highlight the nativity scene! Great card Louise! Ruth x
ReplyDeleteha ha - Louise you are determined to make me eat my words about peel offs!!! It is a gorgeous card though and the colours look fab against the black - Jacqueline xx
ReplyDeleteHi Louise. Your image is very sweet. I really like your glitter paper!
ReplyDeleteI adore this set of stickers - I do believe I still have some in my stash. I think the image works beautifully on black and the glitter of the red and gold is stunning!
ReplyDeleteLovely dramatic card Louise, and a great use of a peel off

Oh wow - I had thought you had heat embossed the image! The black background does give a modern edginess to the traditional Nativity image, which I think is a really neat effect.
