Well, look at me!Here I am right on time with my card for the challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches this week. It's a sketch challenge

and here is my card, using Gorgeous Grunge. The sentiment is from Fabulous Four. I have added a sprinkling of gems, including some grey pearls, even though I've tried to keep it CAS. Still lots of white space

Pretty Things

I have two cards to share this morning. The first one is for the colour challenge at The Colourthrowdown

At the moment screen cards seem to be all the rage and so I thought I'd have a go at making one. I used a punch to cut out the 'legs' and a border punch to make the lacey top. Then it was just a case of stamping and fussy cutting out various flower images. I have sponged the edges and added a few gems and a sentiment from a very old SU set, don't even know it's name! I am also entering the Anything Goes challenge at Addicted To Stamps and More with my sceen card.Here it is....

 

 

My second card is for today's new challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. This week it is the turn of the sketch,

 

 

I must admit I was a bit rushed and so this card is based on a card I posted a couple of weeks ago

 

 

I used the splat from Gorgeous Grunge instead of the hexagons, added a brad and the sentiment banner was made using a corner punch (Martha Stewart) and the sentiment from Simply Sketched. The die cut butterfly was a magazine freebie and this time, instead of leaving it white I have added random splatters from the larger grunge stamp.. Here's a close up

 

 

Two very feminine cards from me, hence the blog title, makes a change!

 



Two for Three

Three challenges inspired me to make the following two cards, I don't very often blog two at a time but these go together. Both cards are for the Grunge challenge at Addicted To CAS, I am totally addicted to Stampin' Up's Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and so any excuse to use it I grab!
This was my first attempt, CASEd from a card I found on the internet and pinned, here

I have used the colour combination from the challenge at Stampin' Royalty, I love the blue accent on the yellow and orange.

I was hooked on this corner stamped design and wanted to make another one and so, this time using the colours from The Colour Throwdown

I made this card

The pink is very pale , but you an see it better in the close up of the humming bird below.  I used a stencil and sponged the three colours to give the idea of iridescent plumage, adding some dazzling Details to enhance the effect and a tiny irridescent gem for his eye. After fussy cutting him out I used dimensionals to pop him up and added the sentiment fro Sassy Salutations. This time I've rounded all four corners.

Hurray for Stamp-a-ma-jigs!

Just playing today, and I found one or two challenges to help me. I wanted to try out my new Stamp-a-ma-jig thingy and so stamping was my main focus.  I have used the lovely colour palette from Colour Throwdown , perfect for the masculine card I wanted to make for Less Is More-haven't played over there in a while. Have to say that my Old Olive ink pad is so dried up that I had to use a substitute - I chose River Rock-hope that's OK

I also wanted to use Gorgeous Grunge, I am so mad about this stamp set, love, love , love it! Must admit, I don't often do one layer cards but I am always impressed by them.  looking at the gallery of winners from last week's LIM challenge gave me the idea.  Enough chat, here's my card

As you can see I've used the tie image from Best Dad Ever (the sentiment is from that set too), although I masked off two of the ties, 5 was way too many, and Off The Grid as a background.  One tiny rhinestone tie pin keeps it LIM.  For me technically, I am very pleased with the positioning and masking -it's good to develop new skills.

Little Row of Houses

I am a bit of a fan of colour challenges as I find they really focus the mind (and my mind needs a lot of focus these days -too much time wasted I fear!) Last week I found the Colour Throwdown challenge and I'm back for another go with these fantastic colours. I think the photo also inspired me to think about home/houses.

I used aTim Holtz die cut which has only had one outing before today.  It's a sweet row of little houses, just perfect for paper piecing with various colours.

I sponged the card blank with Luck Limeade ink and cut the base row of houses from the same colour cardstock. I added some houses, 2 in Marina Mist, 1 in Pacific Point, and 2 in the So Saffron, adding two stick on brads and some punched flowers.  The sentiment is from a freebie magazine set, which is quite old now. I don't use this long, thin card format very often, but I think it goes with this die cut very well.  I will be showing you another 'long thin one' later in the week!
