Rose, Turquoise and Sand

Hello! I have two cards for you today and that's because they were both inspired by the colour challenge at Addicted To Stamps and More

combined with the CAS one layer challenge at Make My Monday. Why two? Well, I made the first one and added a small piece of turquoise twine , then I actually read the post at MMM and found that they want not only no layers but no embellishments either! I tried remaking the first card without the twine but then another quite different card popped out!

I really like this colour combo.  For the first card I used Perfectly Preserved stamp set and for the second a set called Charming, both from Stampin' Up. The sentiment on the second card is from Friendly Phrases, a really useful sentiment set, the sentiments being just a little bit different.

Christmas Cat

I found this little fellow in my stash, I think I bought him in the sales last January, but I've not inked him up before today.  It was this sketch challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More that prompted me to search for a suitable stamp, I seem to have used trees and baubles such a lot I wanted something different.

 I found some paper and matched the card stock to the paper.  I stamped the little cat onto Naturals White card, added a sentiment and Stocking from the Open Sleigh set (I've used this so much it really was a good buy!) and coloured the images using Promarkers. I used some bakers twine for some extra interest and I punched out small circles from matching paper, giving them sparkly centres with silver Stickles and popped the middle one up on a dimensional. I nearly missed the two rectangles at the 'back' but extended part of the paper to give the effect.

As I used a square card base I had to rotate the three elements in the corner to fit them on, I hope this counts as OK for the challenge. Weekend nearly over now, so I will have to leave crafting for another day.

CAS with Buttons

Day two of the holidays and already I'm at it again...my addiction to card making I mean.  Speaking of addiction, this one is for the CAS challenge at Addicted To Stamps this week.

I used buttons pressed into mouldable foam to make the background, which I stamped using my Big and Juicy ink pad. I found a sentiment in my stash and added a button, tied with some paper twine.  Quick, clean and simple!

Off now to a recycling jewellry workshop with my Mum.

A Little Blue Bird

I have often looked at the challenges on Casual Fridays and they are always brilliant and I always miss the deadline! Now, with 8 hours to go I've made it! The challenge was to use text and so I used a new stamp from Waltzing Mouse stamps to create the  background.  I thought of the words of the sentiment and  they went well with the idea.  I used my 2 step bird punch from SU and added a little shiney blue eye as my token 'bling' Here's a close up the little bird..

I made the whole thing in blue to fit another challenge from Addicted to Stamps which is a new challenge blog with some fantastic, inspirational ideas- have a look for yourself.
Got to dash now, daughter's leaving ceremony and I am running late...........
