Charming Birthday/Anniversary

Challenge #45 at CAS Colours and Sketches is a colour challenge which is very close to the heart of our hostess for October, Patricia.  These are colours from her wedding and today she and her husband are celebrating 21 years of marriage - congratulations to you both!

I decided to take a stamp set which I have barely used, Charming, and give it a whirl and,as promised, I've used another long and thin card base.

I don't have Soft Sky so I took the palest blue and stamped the ink pad down on some white card 5 times. I then stamped the image in Basic Grey 4 times and once in Cherry Cobbler. I mounted these 5 panels onto to Basic Grey CS and then again onto Cherry Cobbler card.  Before sticking this down I stamped the text from the stamp set down the left side and finally I heat embossed the Happy Birthday in silver. I could easily have made this an anniversary card - I should have and then I could have sent it to Patricia and her husband!
Hope you'll join in with our challenge this week, do have a look at the cards from the other DT girls.  Happy Crafting!

Rose, Turquoise and Sand

Hello! I have two cards for you today and that's because they were both inspired by the colour challenge at Addicted To Stamps and More

combined with the CAS one layer challenge at Make My Monday. Why two? Well, I made the first one and added a small piece of turquoise twine , then I actually read the post at MMM and found that they want not only no layers but no embellishments either! I tried remaking the first card without the twine but then another quite different card popped out!
Here they are

I really like this colour combo.  For the first card I used Perfectly Preserved stamp set and for the second a set called Charming, both from Stampin' Up. The sentiment on the second card is from Friendly Phrases, a really useful sentiment set, the sentiments being just a little bit different.

Charming Colour Challenge

As the big day gets closer I thought I would share something not at all seasonal.  This card was designed with the colours from Colours and Sketches in mind - So Saffron, Pool Party and Night of Navy (don't worry if you don't have these exact SU shades - I didn't!)
I used a stamp from a SU set called Charming.  First time I overstamped the image in the three colours, but this got a bit messy, rather than CAS, so then I redid it using masks. I stamped extras and fussy cut them. I matted my homemade DSP onto a white card blank and popped the extras up using dimensionals.  Finally I stamped the sentiment, from Sassy Salutations, onto more white CS, fussy cut it out and overlapped it.  I think this will be a great card in the spring time.

Charming thank you

This little card has a story attached to it.  Last week I lost a silver ring at work, I took it off and forgot to put it back on. A day or so later I noticed what I had done and was so upset as it has huge sentimental value. Of course, it was not where I left it, so I sent round an email to all my colleagues and put a notice out to the students but, although lots of people sent messages of hope, no one had seen it. Yesterday our lovely cleaning lady came to me, she had emptied the hoover bag to look for it and there it was, with all the fluff and dirt! I have made this card to say thank you....

Another Pair!

I have had another go at the Perfect pairs challenge for Simply Stamping.  This time I chose a colour combination that I rarely use; poppy parade and very vanilla.  I made the little rosettes and stamped and embossed flowers from Fruit and Flowers to make the centres. I made my background paper using the script stamp from my latest stamp set Charming. The sentiment is one from my stash and fits the theme quite nicely.Simply Stamping ;Perfect Pairs Finally I added a flourish of bling to balance the whole thing.
